Tourism Glossary 1

1. ReservationAn arrangement by which accommodations are secured in advance, as in a hotel or on an airplane.

Full payment is required to make a reservation or purchase a flight voucher.

2. Drinks: An alcoholic beverage, such as a cocktail or highball.

3. Bottle:A receptacle having a narrow neck, usually no handles, and a mouth that can be plugged, corked, or capped.
Her problem is the bottle

4.Salad: A dish of raw leafy green vegetables, often tossed with pieces of other raw or cooked vegetables, fruit, cheese, or other ingredients and served with a dressing.
My grandmother makes some delicious potato salad.

5.Cheese:  A solid food prepared from the pressed curd of milk, often seasoned and aged.
Different types of cheese, I like everyone.

6.Oysters: Any of several edible bivalve mollusks of the family Ostreidae, especially of the genera Crassostrea and Ostrea, that live chiefly in shallow marine waters and have a rough, irregularly shaped shell.
Oysters are beautiful in their natural habitat.

7.Steak: A slice of meat, typically beef, usually cut thick and across the muscle grain and served broiled or fried.
I like steaks of the Leños & Carbon restaurant

8.Restaurant:  A place where meals are served to the public.
I'm going to start my own restaurant

 

9.Salmon:   Any of various large food and game fishes of the genera Salmo and Oncorhynchus, of northern waters, having delicate pinkish flesh and characteristically swimming from salt to fresh water to spawn.
I like the grilled salmon.

10.Dish:  An open, generally shallow concave container for holding, cooking, or serving food.
All night I do the dishes.

11.WaitressA female attendant who serves customers in a restaurant, cafe, or similar.
My friends would be great waitresses.

12.Waiter: A man whose occupation is to serve at table, as in a restaurant.
The waiters get good tips.

13.Menu:  A list of the dishes to be served or available for a meal.
The profitability of a restaurant is on the menu and customer service.

14.Ice creamA smooth, sweet, cold food prepared from a frozen mixture of milk products and flavorings, containing a minimum of 10 percent milk fat and eaten as a snack or dessert.
I like ice cream especially cookie.

15.Coffee: a drink consisting of an infusion of the roasted and ground or crushed seeds of the coffee tree.
There is no better way to get started a good cup of coffee.

16.Tea: An afternoon refreshment consisting usually of sandwiches and cakes served with tea.
My sister prefers the morning tea.

17.Dessert A usually sweet course or dish, as of fruit, ice cream, or pastry, served at the end of a meal.
The best part of the meal is dessert.

18.CappuccinoEspresso coffee mixed or topped with steamed milk or cream.
At the university cafeteria cappuccino sold.

19.Meal Any of the regular occasions, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc., when food is served and eaten.
I like alls meal

20.Bill:  An itemized list or statement of fees or charges.
When finished eating at the restaurant ask for the account.
